Bankrupt

A player is bankrupt when they cannot meet their maintenance obligations during the admin phase. A player who has undergone bankruptcy turns in everything in their possession (‘foreclosed’ buildings are not their possessions) to the bank. The player is then eliminated from the game!

Business Value

The sum of business cash and building value, less any business debt.

City

The colored placemats represent cities. Cities are the only places where resources can be mined and have a specific color (and token) assigned to them.

Commodity

Any Resources, Materials, or Products.

Executive Action

Actions that can be taken anywhere on the board. These include: Repeat any unique action, with permission of owner. Hire transports. Construct or upgrade buildings. Bank actions during the admin phase.

Foreclosure

A building may be foreclosed during the admin phase to either reduce the maintenance obligation, or generate quick cash to meet maintenance obligations. When a building is foreclosed the owner immediately receives half the value of the building in cash. The placeholder card underneath the building is removed and the building is put up for auction during the following auction phase.

Local action

Actions that are tied to a locality through the office tower. These are represented by tokens placed on the office tower’s placeholder card. These may be used to: Repeat any unique action you own, (or don’t own, with permission) in the locality. Hire transports or construct / upgrade buildings in the locality

Locality

Cities and the Metropolis are all considered localities.

Market

A localities market is represented by its placeholder card - a colored piece of cardboard. Any commodities sold are placed here, and any commodities here are for sale.

Material

Red, blue, white, green, or yellow token with the dotted side up. These are obtained by using a refinery action.

Metropolis

The Metropolis is represented by an uncolored (brown) placemat. No resources can be mined here and buildings cost twice as much in the metropolis. However, commodities are demanded twice as much in the metropolis and buildings here are more powerful.

Personal Value

In the Stock Market Expansion. The sum of the personal cash, bonds, and stock values possessed by the player, less any debt.

Product

Pyramid or Black token. These are obtained by using a Manufacturer action.

Resource

Red, blue, white, green, or yellow tokens with the blank side up. These are obtained by using a mine action.

Stock Value

In the Stock Expansion. This is double the business value of a player, divided by the total number of issued shares. A dividend increases this value by 10 for each 1 dividend paid out (per share).

Unique Action

Actions that are tied to a building or unit. These can only be used for their respective building or unit’s ability. These are represented by tokens placed on the building or unit’s placeholder card.
